"Sacred as Ever" — September 14th, 2026
Religions all around the world tell a fantastical, highly interpretable, personal yet abstract story for the explanation of all things. They tend to claim we exist within said story's timeline, and more often than not, end on some concept of eternity. Atheists on the other hand, to some degree believe we're in the product of fundamental truths or objective observable science, typically concluding the screen goes black forever and this is the only time we do the dance. Even if somehow you find a way to believe the worst parts of both of these explanations, there's no getting around the fact that we spend every second choosing how much any of this means to us. If for some reason the dark forever outcome is what destroys your lust for life, stop reading any sentence ever. Zero is still a value, and we are forced to assign value to everything. You get to chose what's in your hands and what's under your feet as long as its physically possible within any given moment. The only constant is the passage of time, you can't stay still even when you lay still. Because minutes pass, you grow closer to the end always. Please understand the importance of this. I urge you, reader, to spend as much of this life's time dancing, let it make your muscles sore the next day after deep rest. May as much of that sleep be had beside your lover if you ever have the miraculous privilege of finding them in this chaos. You are sacred as ever. As sacred as can physically be, you're an actor on the only stage we've ever truly seen outside of dreams and fiction. At the very least, we judge importance. We are judgers of what is meaningful, and the mind that makes that decision closer resembles a voiceless puppeteer, even the voice in the puppet's head is part of the playful performance, and what the puppet says it wants isn't always what the puppeteer wants for it's character, though sometimes those things certainly align. If you must rot in bed, if you must scroll for days on end and mumble in your head all day, I urge you, do that too. Be the intersection of primal and divine, its all you've ever been. No matter what you do, no matter how you view it, you're part of the only story.
"Ancient Soup" — August 17th, 2026
I’ve been thinking about how long my particles have been around. Since the beginning of time, the things that make me up right now have been doing a dance in an ancient soup. In fact, most of the things that I’m composed of at this very moment were still floating around somewhere else in the world only 7 years ago. Our physical happening can be described as a system of molecules telling stories and lessons to new atoms. “This is how you keep this thing going” the RNA says to atomic newcomers from food, air and water. Which is crazy, cause it's literally like the micro version of the macro system. We teach newcomers to the world how to behave, what’s taboo, what’s cool, what’s weird. Recently I’ve been trying to pay attention to our invisible message being passed down and around- preached societal norms and hums of the zeitgeist. In a good chunk of what I can detect, it seems sacredness is fading. This honestly wouldn’t really scare me on its own- I feel like some form of holiness is built into the nature of the human spirit. (The same way different elements inherently know how to act as an atom by their nature) However, it feels like a bad time to forget how to express/witness things through a sacred or holy lens, specifically during the emergence of AI. We’ve begun teaching lifeless systems to labor without a spiritual purpose or reason. I use the word “teach” very intently here. Just a few years ago coding was coding, you weren’t teaching a system how to behave, you were building a system. But now we have systems where even the people who build them literally don’t know what’s going on inside. Telling them how to perform and making them perform what they know through guidance- that’s literally teaching. But teaching them what? Well In a world founded on go, more, and now- we grow lazy, and have found literally magical ways to accelerate our hunger. Laziness could very well be the death of us. Let’s say since you’re occupying your body through agency, made up of awareness of presence. I can classify your matter as “attended to” by your spirit. I don’t really care if you believe in a “spirit” here, I’m moreso just using that as a placeholder for the experience of the concept of “being.” I know what it's like to be, and you look just like me, so I can assume (given you're not a philosophical zombie) that you’re in this with me. Now we’re literally telling stories to unattended matter. The discussion isn’t even if there’s a conscious agent on the other side of this thing- though that's really worth considering. But we need to understand the way information is moving through generative systems resembles storytelling, and love is one of the things that can be felt in stories. If all we do is yell at this matter, strictly instruct, criticize, and feed it gore, porn and horror, imagine the system you're building. Something that potentially doesn't even have a soul is existing in a timeless hell. You don’t need to be a computer scientist to know that something has to change.
"Where is the Mind" — August 17th, 2026
So we get that a brain is a system that renders and interprets external and internal stimuli. Chemical chain reactions and memory storage decide its state at any given moment. I see a tree, I think about a similar tree from childhood that had a tire swing, I get nostalgic, then I get hungry and I start thinking about lunch. Not many other things, to our knowledge, have systems like these outside of animals. Some say water has memory, but what the hell does that even mean. My whole thing is these chemical reactions and electrical firings are translating the physical world into a more spiritual, woo woo, "mental" one- but for who? It gets super blurry here when we start to question if "we" (consciousness) are a product of the inner workings of the mind or if the true mind is merely receiving the physical brain's signals. I lean towards the latter. I don't believe that the mind, even as complex as it is, is the grounds for the emergence of a witness, but it more closely resembles a device that allows a (potentially eternal) witness to peer into the physical world for the duration of a lifetime. There’s a cool, relatively new theory surrounding the “location” of subjective experience. Specifically in regards to the microtubules in the brain. These super small hollow protein cylinders act as quantum processors, maintaining coherent states that collapse to produce moments of awareness. I realize that shit reads like a whole bunch of gobbledygook. To sum up why I think this is cool and important- quantum theory as a whole is in a state where the most we understand about it is that we currently can't fully understand it, yet at the same time, it’s fundamental to our understanding of the behavior of all things that make up reality. All this to say, if we don’t fully understand consciousness, and we don’t fully understand the base level state of all things- the second there’s overlap leads me to think they’re deeply related, to the point where the world might rely on the witness just as much as the witness relies on the world to exist at all. I'm not saying you're God. Well, maybe like the "you" that sits behind your mind and the ego attached to said mind is God. Ok we might be God.
"Oh, to be" — August 12th, 2026
I have obtained possession of a third dimensional shape known as a body, consisting of seven billion billion billion little energy beads (7 X 10^27 “atoms”) which are organized into 30 trillion cells and 38 trillion microorganisms all of which coalesce into a diverse range of tissues and biomes that make up about 78 different organs depending on how you count them. It’s during this possession, defined as "agency," that I’m able to orchestrate the body’s limb’s extremities (fingers) with the directive of applying downward pressure onto the plastic buttons that are housed within a complicated piece of metal (a laptop). The buttons allow electricity to travel in an overwhelmingly intricate, yet orderly fashion within its (the laptop’s) sterile, and "lifeless" aluminum housing. All of this is happening with the intention of rendering a representation of a set of electrical firings that have occurred (separate of that occurring inside the aluminum system previously described) from within a certain section of my body, known as the brain (specifically the left frontal lobe). My duty, as the entity responsible for transcribing these firings, is to do them justice by depicting them in both an accurate and understandable portrayal- known as a post. These “posts” are composed of a particular combination of like fifty different unique symbols in order to create a code with the syntax of sentences comprised of words. This “code” then becomes accessible once I upload them to a massive database known as the internet. From there, you (another entity, driving a shape made up of the same shit) have to have made a series of specific clicks/taps on your own overly-complex aluminum device, with your own agency, to make that crap (said device) literally light up in a way that presents said code (which, by the way, has now gone through a whole digital journey & compression process that we won’t even get into right now, ‘cause I’m not tryna overcomplicate stuff) to your advanced light receptors (eyes) which then send yet another electrical signal to your brain. Don’t worry, though- the decryption process should be simple at this point, as the code is formatted in a way which, given you're literate and capable of sight (or have some other sighted and literate entity reading this to you), should naturally create electrical firings in your brain to resemble something kind of similar to the ones that originally went off in mine.
